Greetings,
I had a great time over at the Northern Virginia Dental Clinic today. The clinic, staff, and patients were phenomenal. The clinic was established to provide low-income residents of the NoVA region access to oral health services. More specifically, eligible patients are those whose income must be at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines. These patients undergo a comprehensive oral exam and a treatment plan is developed. Then patients, normally, are scheduled for an hour appointment and the volunteer dentist or dental hygienist accomplishes as much as they can in the allotted time. It is a great service and it was wonderful to learn how many dentists from our area volunteer their time and expertise to help those less fortunate in our area. Volunteering there and providing such a needed service is something that I am honored to do. It was such a great experience I have already scheduled my next day of volunteering.
